Stern Grove Festival 2025 Celebrates 88 Years with Diana Ross, Pointer Sisters, and a Star-Studded Free Concert Series

Stern Grove Festival returns for its monumental 88th season with a powerful lineup that celebrates legends, rising stars, and Bay Area icons. Running June 15 through August 17, this free, multi-genre concert series will once again transform San Francisco’s historic eucalyptus-lined amphitheater into a vibrant community gathering for ten consecutive weeks of live music.

This summer’s standout performers include global icons Diana Ross and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley with Stephen Marley, alongside beloved acts like The Pointer Sisters, Phantogram, Orville Peck, Girl Talk, Chromeo, and indie rock pioneers Sleater-Kinney. Local talent shines bright too, with appearances from Michael Franti & Spearhead, The California Honeydrops, Lyrics Born, ASTU, and more. The San Francisco Symphony will also return for a special July 6 performance featuring Taimane.

For 2025, Stern Grove introduces a new ticket lottery system to ensure equitable access. All shows remain free, and tickets can be secured via lottery on the festival’s website. New community box offices across the city will also offer in-person ticket options.

A rotating lineup of local radio DJs from KEXP, KALW, and KPFA will kick off nearly every show, amplifying Bay Area culture before each performance. The season concludes with the Big Picnic Weekend (August 16–17), headlined by the Marleys and Diana Ross.

Founded in 1938 by Rosalie Meyer Stern, the festival remains rooted in its mission: music for all, under the trees. Learn more and enter the ticket lottery at sterngrove.org.
