Legendary rock icon Robert Plant is hitting the road this fall with his new band, Saving Grace, and they’re making a stop at the Fox Theater Oakland on Friday, November 21. Presented by Another Planet Entertainment, presale tickets go live Thursday, July 17 at 10 AM, with general on-sale starting Friday, July 18 at 10 AM.
The tour supports the upcoming release of Saving Grace, Plant’s first album with this distinctive ensemble of musicians. Due out September 26 via Nonesuch Records, the project is what Plant calls “a songbook of the lost and found,” crafted during lockdown in the English countryside. The group featuring vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown, brings together a shared love for timeless, evocative music.
Over the past six years, the band has evolved into what Plant describes as a joyful, genre-defying collective: “We laugh a lot, really. I think that suits me. I’m not jaded. These are sweet people, and they are playing out all the stuff that they could never get out before.”
Recorded in the Cotswolds and on the Welsh Borders, Saving Grace revives songs once sung by legends like Memphis Minnie, Blind Willie Johnson, The Low Anthem, and more. This release marks a new chapter in Plant’s storied career, following acclaimed solo works like Carry Fire and lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar.
